CELEBRATIONS PLANNED for 2013
Confirmations and fuller details will follow.

Additional family gatherings, picnics, Puhoi in the 150 years since,
and the influence of later arrivals are further aspects under consideration.


Saturday early January 2013 - at Puhoi
Puhoi Axeman Woodchopping Carnival on lawn in front of the Pub & Hotel.
and the annual Waitemata Agricultural & Pastoral Country Show (A & P)
- with a 150th Anniversary theme - in the Puhoi Domain

Sunday 24th February - at Puhoi..
Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bohemian Association (of NZ) .

Sunday 3rd March - in Auckland.
Gathering of SCHOLLUM family descendants for Mass and a Social Function to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the wedding of John and Elizabeth SCHOLLUM who, on the journey out from Bohemia, were married in Hamburg on the 5th March 1863.

Thursday 25th April 2013 - at Puhoi
ANZAC Day service and commemoration of those who served in the Armed Forces, the part played by Puhoi and with special acknowledgement those who died in action. Displays at the Library and at the Museum.

Friday 28th June - (date and venue still to be finalised)
Seniors 'Honouring of Age' lunch at Puhoi Pub & Hotel or in the Centennial Hall.

Friday 28th June - at Puhoi.

Morning - Information desk and late registrations.
Afternoon - Visit Museum, Church, displays and visits to historic sites and homesteads by bus.
Evening - Meet and greet. The Puhoi Bohemian Band will be playing in the Puhoi Pub in the evening.


Saturday 29th June 2013 - at Puhoi.
1st Group of Bohemians landed on the banks of Puhoi River on this day in 1863.

Morning - Information desk open.
9.00 am - Mass in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, Puhoi.
11.30 am - Welcomes,official speeches, and recognition of the Puhoi Wharf project.
Afternoon -
12.30pm. - Costumed re-enactment of landing followed by wakas and other river craft.
2 pm. - Group and family photographs. View displays, visit Museum, Church and heritage sites.
3 to 4.30 pm Bohemian dancers and music from the Puhoi and Ohaupo Bohemian Bands with the dudelsack and accordians in the Hall.
Evening -
7.30 pm Dance in the Hall with a light supper.
8 pm. Disco in the Puhoi Sports Centre.


Sunday 30th June - at Puhoi

Morning -
8.30 am Mass in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, Puhoi.
9 am Farmers Market at Puhoi Sports Centre and the Domain.
Afternoon -
1 to 2.30 pm The Bohemian dancers and music by the Ohaupo Bohemian Band in the Hall.
Also another opportunity to view displays, visit Museum, Church, Cemetery and other points of interest.
